Good article. I can thoroughly recommend Corian however. Had it in our first kitchen for 17 years and it performed superbly. No chips or cracks (even after accidentally dropping pans on it and the ceiling caving in thanks to the 2010 hailstone storm), we spilt coffee, red wine, methylated spirits, citrus juices, permanent market, even a little hot oil on the Corian benchtop and all with no ill effect. Some post-celebration wine and coffee stains we didn't clean up until the next day and still, no residual staining. It is a great product and although only a little more expensive than similar surfaces, it is well worth it. It can even be buffed if there are scratches (although we never did). I cannot recommend it enough so much so that I've just put in Corian into our new kitchen.
