Home automation in every aspect of the home looks set to rise.

The smart home revolution continues to roll on and it is expected that Australia’s home automation market will be worth approximately $1.9 billion this year, with household penetration hitting over 41% by 2023.

Luxaflex Window Fashions’ marketing communications manager Vera Meharg says that personalisation has moved beyond merely heating and lighting.

“Homeowners can take complete control in the management of shading, temperature control, energy efficiency and privacy in their home, all of which can actively reduce energy consumption and amp up security.”

Home automation is also facilitating a rise in the area of wellness and biophilic design according to Australian home design platform Houzz.

Lamps adjusting intesnsity according to natural circadian rhythms, decor integrating plants, soothing palettes and low-VOC paints, as well as other wellness enhancing architecture will all become big factors in 2020 design.
