Thanks Jerry. The house is a full steel frame brick veneer. The architectural plans seem to indicate that the verandah slab is separate, but am trying to get hold of the engineer's spec. My biggest concern is satisfying a certifier as the work will be done in conjunction with a new covered outdoor area. I would be reducing the step to less than 75mm.
