SpectraFlora has launched the Aphelia 8, a two-way loudspeaker. Aphelia 8 distils the same essence of its acclaimed flagship, the Celata 88, into a more compact form.
The speaker draws upon the same Dynamic Waveguide technology featured in the three-way Celata 88.
Bass duties are handled by a powerful 8” graphene-coated magnesium driver, housed in a sealed cabinet designed for precision and musicality.
Aphelia 8 is manufactured in Victoria, as are all SpectraFlora loudspeakers, using Australian timber. The internal damping is provided by Australian wool from Victorian sheep, a natural and high-performance material.
SpectraFlora managing director Steve Van Sluyter says that it went with a sealed, heavily damped cabinet and an 8” woofer to ensure outstanding bass and mid-bass clarity and punch.
“The Dynamic Waveguide, although it looks the same as the Celata 88, was completely redesigned for the narrower Aphelia 8 cabinet dimension,” he says.
“It produces wide constant directivity, assuring accurate timbre from various listening positions and in reverberant rooms, along with the intimate, engaging dynamics of a horn.”
Launched in October 2024, SpectraFlora’s first product, the Celata 88, has earned widespread praise from discerning listeners and expert reviewers alike.
The Aphelia 8 is poised to continue that legacy. Sharing the same sonic DNA, it shares the dynamic expression and immersive clarity that have become hallmarks of the SpectraFlora sound.
