Beaumont Tiles celebrates 65 years

When RJ Beaumont shifted from selling greeting cards to tiles in the 1960s, ceramic floors and walls were far from a household norm. Tiles were largely functional, lining only the floors and the lower portions of bathroom “wet areas” around baths, in showers and above sinks – with small splashbacks behind stoves or kitchen sinks.

Over 65 years, the business he founded has seen tiles transform from a practical necessity into a style statement, spreading throughout the home. From mint-green pastel tubs and hand-crafted “dunny roll dolls” to today’s sleek designs influenced by European trends and modern technology, Beaumont Tiles has always placed style at the heart of its offering.

The new Fireclay range reflects that philosophy. Though it mimics the look of natural clay, it’s made from durable, easy-to-clean porcelain. Advanced European moulding technology, incorporating oil in the process, creates subtle surface variations, giving each tile a handcrafted appearance that balances traditional craft with modern innovation.

Beaumont Tiles category manager Ryan Robers says tiles are a time capsule of Australian design.

“Bathrooms have grown from cold, functional spaces into stylish, practical and adaptable rooms, and tiles now extend far beyond the bathroom to anchor interiors across the home,” Ryan says.

“Today it’s all about textures that look great now but won’t date in a decade. Being leaders in style, we’ve curated looks that will outlast any trend.”
