MEP Films has recently announced the launch of its EnerLogic solar window films range, which it claims offers window insulation equivalent to that provided by double glazing.
The EnerLogic film is said to provide up to 92% more insulation to existing windows, and can be installed either on existing single glazed windows for performance similar to double glazed windows, or to double glazed windows to make them perform like triple-glazed windows might.
MEPS Films also points out that EnerLogic film is also considerably cheaper to install than double glazing – with MEP Films’ own estimates putting the cost of installation for a three-bedroom home at around $7000 AUD.
Michael Miller, MEP Films’ Australian and New Zealand Sales Manager, says “On average, Enerlogic Window Film performs four times better than regular or standard solar films.”
The EnerLogic Window Film is available in two varieties; Enerlogic 35 (for warmer climates), which deflects 99% of UV rays and 76% of solar heat and allows 33% visible light transmittance, and Enerlogic 70, which deflects 99% of UV rays and 49% of solar heat, and allows 70% visible light transmittance. The U-Values for the two film types are 3.408 and 3.464 (w/sq.m.k), respectively.
The EnerLogic films come with a ten year warranty, and is only sold and installed by accredited installers.
