Australian Outdoor Living launches the smart backyard

Australian Outdoor Living has introduced designs to elevate lifestyle, convenience and aesthetics while solving problems such as overheating artificial lawns and manually operating outdoor blinds.

Among the additions to the range are long-term supply agreements with Australian steel suppliers which brings a design tool to make planning and visualizing pergolas, patios, decks and verandahs easier.

“Today’s outdoor space is more than just a lawn or patio – it’s a place to unwind, connect, and even work,” Australian Outdoor Living chief executive Chris Taylor says.

“We see it as our job to make that space smarter, more beautiful, and more durable than ever before.”

One of the products being introduced is premium artificial lawn called the Grange, which is engineered with CoolWeave and SuperFlow technology.

The Grange is up to 20% cooler and its fully permeable backing allows water to drain up to four times faster to prevent puddles after rain.

The SmartTrack Connect blind aligns the outdoor space with modern smart homes. It’s fully compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa where users can raise, lower or adjust their pergola blinds by voice, app or remote.

Chris highlights new supply agreements with Lysaght and Fielders as an indication of Australian Outdoor Living’s commitment to evolving its range.

“Quality has been central to the business since day one, and the structures we built then remain in excellent condition today,” he says.

“But as materials manufacturing continues to advance, we want to ensure we’re building with the best available products – those that come with strong warranties and consistent supply, so customers aren’t left waiting.”
