Jack, part of the White Group of building and construction solutions, has launched the FGReo bar, a sturdy solution for concrete slabs and blocks.
The 12mm FGReo bars are made to bond with concrete and are made to Australian Standard Grade 46, equating to a tensile strength of 740MPa. It’s made from 70-80% glass fibre and 30-40% polyester resin, as well as 75% cheaper than stainless steel alternatives.
HDG bars are more affordable, but the zinc coating wears off after time, often leading to corrosion, spalling and concrete cancer.
FGReo is highly resistant to corrosion and maintains the original look and integrity of a construction without rust-related deterioration or chemical damage. It’s also cheaper than both HDG and stainless steel.
Its lightweight, non-conductive structure makes it easy to transport and handle on-site while also being safe to use near electrical installations. Each length is coated to prevent fibre irritations while being easy to cut with a fine blade saw or grinder.
