As construction costs stabilise, more Australians are planning home upgrades in 2026. The Housing Industry Association (HIA) forecasts that renovation activity will remain high, driven by rising home prices and limited new-home supply. Lending for home renovations is now nearly three times higher than pre-pandemic levels.

Concrete is strong, but it reacts to stress, vibration and impact. A 2024 incident in Sydney underscores the stakes: Over 900 apartments were found to have serious structural issues linked to poor workmanship. Even small renovation jobs can face similar risks if concrete cuts are rushed or performed incorrectly.
