DECO Australia has added two radius batter sizes to its DecoBatten QuickClick two-piece aluminium batten range.
The 25mm and 40mm wide radius battens are a smaller and sleeker version of the original 50mm profile design to create compact and versatile batten profiles.
The expansion offers architects and designers more flexibility to craft contemporary aesthetics across a bigger range of applications. The sizes are suitable for facades, fencing and screening, kitchen islands, fireplace surrounds and feature walls.
“We’re always listening to the design community, and the addition of these smaller batten profiles is a direct response to requests for more compact options that still deliver that signature DECO style,” DECO marketing manager Emma Savage says.
“Whether you’re designing an intricate façade or a refined interior detail, these new profiles expand the creative toolkit.”
Oak & Orange has used the profiles as part of their Dream Home 10 project. The 40mm radius batten was used to create a north-facing timber-look feature fence and gate on their costal holiday home project.
“We’ve used DecoBatten in all kinds of shapes and sizes throughout our dream homes, and honestly, we keep coming back for more,” Oak & Orange’s Heather and Sarah says.
“These sleek radius battens gave us that modern Mediterranean feel we were after, and the best part – they’re a timber look without the timber maintenance.” The 40x65mm and 25x40mm radius battens are extruded from non-combustible, solid aluminium to ease stress for residential and commercial projects, including ones in bushfire-prone and fire-regulated zones.
