how much heat comes off the side of a oven, I want to know how close can I have timber to the side of the oven ,thank cheers chris

Someone else asked this question a while ago too: Free standing oven - space requirements with cupboards.
The sides of ovens are generally insulated very well, to a point where the outside skin of the oven shouldn't be hot enough to cause any issues. Having said that, you should always check with the manufacturer of the oven to make sure that if there are any specific clearance requirements for the model of oven you're installing, you can build the necessary clearances into your cabinetry.
