The 39th Dulux Colour Awards are now open for entries and welcome interior designers, specifiers, architects and students across Australia and New Zealand to submit their projects.
The award celebrates the creative direction of colour in designs across a range of interior and exterior spaces, including residential, public and commercial environments.
Entries will shut on Friday 21 February where participants will be able to nominate themselves across seven different categories. The categories are commercial interior – workplace and retail, commercial interior – public and hospitality, commercial and multi-residential exterior, residential interior, single residential exterior, temporary or installation design and student (years one to six) (AU and NZ).
Each category winner will receive AU $1,000 and the winner of the student category will receive AU $500 as prize money.
Eligible products must have been completed between 1 September 2024 and 31 December 2024 and have not previously been entered for the award.
Finalists will have the chance to be judged for the Australian Grand Prix and New Zealand Grand Prix titles. Each Grand Prix will judge the finalists from their respective countries, excluding the student category, and will be in the running to receive AU $5,000 and NZ $5,000 respectively.
The judges for the Dulux Colour Awards will be Kim Bridgland, Alex Mcleod, Andrea Lucena-Orr, Rachel Luchetti, Andrew Parr and Kerstin Thompson.
“The creative use of colour is such an integral aspect of design, particularly when a project has multiple constraints, and I’m eager to see how this year’s entrants have embraced it to enhance function and form across residential and commercial spaces.” Andrew says.
Dulux colour and communications manager Andrea Lucena-Orr praised last years Australian and New Zealand Grand Prix winners for their creativity and encourages this year’s participants to express their environment through the award program.
“The Dulux Colour Awards celebrates design and how the considered use of bold and imaginative colour can truly transform the form, feeling and function of a space,” she says
“The depth of talent, sophistication and ambition demonstrated by our emerging and established design community never fails to impress the judging panel’s expectations, and we eagerly await to observe their appraisal of this year’s entries.”
Those shortlisted will be announced on Thursday 27 March on the Dulux website and the winners will be announced at the 39th Dulux Colour Awards on Tuesday 28 May at the National Gallery of Victoria.
