Staying cool and keepin’ busy

The days are shorter, the nights are longer and the trees bearer as the coldest season takes full hold for 2024. It could even be said it was welcomed with the recent Aurora australis and borealis light show across the night skies in the southern hemisphere of Australia, a phenomenon normally associated with the icy high-latitude regions of the earth such as the Artic or Antarctic.

Some animals will be considering taking to their winter slumber at this point. For people, it will only be the beginning of season activities, including skiing and sledding in snowy locations, hiking or take to some cosey fires with friends. Whatever the undertaking, its certainly no time to minimise what we do in our spare time and around the home – in fact, it could be the most adventurous and creative!

An embracing the cool temperatures and natural environments are seeing an emergence, while a visiting of meek, quieter rooms, like the bathroom, are providing home DIYers with more perspective and options as to what can be done to utilise spaces, to name some ideas.

Though it may not be the most fruitful time, its certainly not the way for things ‘home’ as we check out what’s on offer in May’s late-autumn edition of Build.com.au.
