Can a rangehood be flued into the ceiling space?

It is definitely not recommended for the rangehood to be flued into the ceiling space. The Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Fire regulations legislate state that rangehoods must be either recycling back into the room or ducted through to outside.
We also asked Selina Zwolsman from the Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute (KBDi) who suggested you start with the installation instructions. It’s highly likely that the instructions will stipulate that the ducting should be vented externally and not in the ceiling space. If you ignore this, you'll void any warranty claims (and potential insurance claims) down the track.
