Smartstone has introduced both surfaces in its Sintered Collection, a range that elevates the performance and visual appeal of traditional porcelain.
“Our research showed that people are fascinated by the beauty of Taj Mahal, so we developed a precise replica with our advanced print technology to offer a more affordable alternative,” Smartstone national specification and architectural manager Madelina Kalpou says.
Taj Mahal evokes the grandeur of its namesake with warm, creamy tones and delicate veining that mirror the elegance of natural Brazilian quartzite. Suitable for residential and commercial applications alike, it brings a sense of quiet luxury and timeless sophistication to any space.
Carrara, meanwhile, channels the classic charm of Italian marble with soft grey veining over a cool, pearly white background. Perfect for refined interiors with a contemporary edge.
As one of history’s most celebrated marbles, Carrara has adorned architectural and artistic masterpieces for centuries and Smartstone’s interpretation captures that enduring appeal in a durable, modern format.
“After launching our Sintered Collection in 2024, we worked with designers and industry experts to create surfaces that are trend-forward yet classic,” Madelina added. Created through an advanced sintering process, both Taj Mahal and Carrara are UV-stable, non-porous and highly resistant to heat, stains and scratches. Sintering replicates millions of years of natural metamorphic change by combining intense heat and immense pressure, over 30,000 tons, to fuse natural minerals into an ultra-compact, high-performance surface that excels in both fabrication and installation.
