Tiny hut makes big impression!

An example of a garden bedroom in a Nordic Hut.

A stroll through the Tiny House Expo drew a lot of attention and, along the way, the charming Nordic Hut on display resulted in serious ‘study envy’ for this writer!

Based on the fishing and mushrooming huts dotted around Denmark, the Nordic Huts are functional, unique and sustainably built. The huts are inspired by the Danish love of hygge, family and keeping warm during the harsh winter months.

The couple behind them is Eddie and Kat Anderson – a Danish girl and an Aussie guy who have customised the units to suit the Australian climate. They are perfect for use as a garden bedroom, an outdoor or onsite office, artistic studio, kids’ retreat, or as a men’s or she shed.

Three designs are currently available – Lille, Mellem and Stor.

All timber is sourced from sustainable regrowth forests while other materials used include interior and exterior timber cladding, asphalt roofing, and metal flashing.

The company is based in Williamstown where all designs are built, flat-packed and delivered within six to eight weeks.
