Wattyl wants to colour your (outdoor) world

08 February 2022

Paint brand, Wattyl has relaunched its iconic exterior paint range – Solagard – with a new colour collection, to reflect emerging trends in architecture and design.

Solagard has introduced 82 new colours to its range of 138 hues – including 15 Colorbond shades.

The Wattyl team of colour ambassadors has updated the Solagard colour offering in line with evolving colour preferences for home exteriors.

“For the past two years we have lived a more uncertain and restricted life but now consumers want to see more optimism and vitality in their lives,” said Marylou Cafaro, Wattyl’s senior colour ambassador.

“Both architecture and design have evolved over the past two years with consumers placing increased importance on outdoor living areas as well as surfaces and textures that reflect confidence and positivity”.

For a fresh, invigorating coastal dwelling, Wattyl’s colour team suggests the combination of Wattyl Geyser Flat for the fascia and architectural details with a defining roof line in Wattyl Colorbond Basalt. The pop of vibrant colour comes from Wattyl Maldive Dive, the lush marine turquoise being an option for the front door and other decorative elements such as exterior cushions or soft furnishings.

For a more modern, industrial architectural style, the colour palette should reflect similar elements of strength and boldness in its colour palette – such as Wattyl Black Hole, together with Wattyl Dawn Grey and Wattyl Astor White.

And for those of us who favour the classic appeal of traditional architecture, a more tonal palette creates both harmony and enduring street appeal – the Wattyl team suggests the timeless combination of Wattyl Dobson, Wattyl Safe and Sound and Wattyl Colorbond Nightsky as an option.

These are just a few of the many individual colour palettes that can be achieved with the new Wattyl Solagard range of 138 colours.

Wattyl Solagard uses Total Protect Technology to create an exterior paint that resists flaking, peeling and blistering – hence its 25-year warranty. In the most recent Canstar ratings, Wattyl Solagard received an excellent five stars for durability.

Made in Australia, for Australia’s harsh weather conditions, Wattyl Solagard is available nationally from Wattyl Paint Centres, Crowies and selected Mitre 10 and Home Timber Hardware stores.
