Demi Brown, from Australian Home Heating Association, has the following advice:
All wood heaters during test procedure are tested for the appropriate size hearth.
The manufacturer will have all the requirements for a hearth for their units. I suggest that you contact the manufacturer or retailer of the product and request information regarding an appropriate hearth for your wood heater.
