CSR Gyprock has introduced the Opera cornice to its range of decorative cornices. The Opera range combines smooth-flowing curves and modern lines for luxe and contemporary interior styles.
“This year we are going to see a new focus on cornices playing a key part in design – especially given the myriad of functional and aesthetic benefits they offer,” CSR Gyprock marketing director Renae McGinty says.
“We’ve designed the Opera cornice with modern homeowners in mind, offering inspiration to complement interior design elements while defining the room and suiting a home’s individual style. The Opera cornice is a versatile choice, with its clean geometric lines offsetting a contemporary room, while its formal curves look right at home among period or art deco-inspired interiors.”
To assist home owners in visualising the Opera solutions in their room, Gyprock’s My Visualiser lets designers experiment with the cornice designs in real-time. End users can test the Opera cornice in several room styles with the choice of lighting effects, ceiling height, wall colour and accessories.
Additional features of the Opera include a 90mm profile with classical curves and a sharp stepped border, it’s lightweight for easy installation and can be installed on plasterboard, fibrous plaster or cement-rendered surfaces and it can be retrofitted over a 55mm Cove cornice.
Gyprock’s Inspiration range offers eight different cornice profiles to suit the wants of home owners.
“When paired thoughtfully with other design features such as architraves, skirting boards, lighting and door hardware, cornices are emerging as an unexpected design hero, bringing sophistication and polish to every space,” Renae says.
“To extend the interior style of a room, cornices can be painted to match walls and skirting boards, resulting in a seamless design flow. Alternatively, to add interest, painting cornices in a contrasting colour to the walls can have a bold dramatic effect.”
